Just got embarrassed on national tv while being the only game of the day. Entire country watching and we flat out lay an egg. Sickening what this program has become. This team just can't get out of their own way.

This wack ass recruiting job over the past few years starting to reveal itself. Absolutely no players that can make plays in open space. QB looks like a sophomore in high school that can barely throw 30 yards downfield. Defensive pass rush/ line nowhere near as impactful. Running backs can’t make more than one dude miss. Receivers would be riding the pine at other contending programs, and another vanilla year of special teams just being wave and catch. At this point I don’t think it’s the scheme, I think it’s all about the personalities Dabo has decided to bring into this program. None of these players have any inspirational swagger at all like a Boulware or Watson. None of these coaches bring a fire on the sidelines like Coach V did. What you have is a program full of Boy Scouts who no longer exemplify “Best is the Standard” on the field. Maybe Clemson needs to become more hard nosed like Ohio State, Alabama, and Georgia so they don’t look so pathetic anymore. When you let Duke punk you on the football field, you’re not a good football program. Clemson had its run, but until they start recruiting more Deon Cains, Mike Williams, Deshaun Watson’s, Isaiah Simmons, Dexter Lawrences , Mackenzie Alexanders and hiring more fiery personalities that will put fear in the players behinds so they don’t get punked by Duke, Clemson will remain a mediocre team on the field. I love Wes Goodwin, he seems to have a great defensive scheme but the players seem to attack with a lack of energy that was present with Venables. Even if players were caught out of position they would swarm to the ball, now they give up midway. Linebackers don’t hit with nearly as much force as they used to, now they are trying to arm tackle a 230 pound Quarterback. Their only hope for any playoffs this season is doing a complete 180 and dominating ND, FSU, and winning the ACC in dominating fashion as well.
